The Problem Case of the Troubled Teenager
Esmeralda called me late at night and it was disconcerting, for I heard the fear and panic in her voice. The kind of voice that only a concerned and desperate mother would make.
“How can I help you?” I asked. I knew right away that there was something seriously troubling her.
“It’s my daughter”, the concerned mother replied. Her daughter, Katie has been seeing the school counsellor (for several sessions), had seen a psychologist, then escalated to a psychiatrist who then prescribed psychotropic medicines and it severely backfired.
